A couple years ago....We had fished all day and had only caught a few chickens (small halibut), and loads of dog sharks. It seemed everytime we would anchor up we'd catch a couple chickens and then the sharks would move in. So we'd move. This went on all day, and the weather was lousy to boot. It was getting late, and we all had just about had enough and decided to leave. I was hauling in the anchor and everybody pulled in their lines, but I told my boy, Anthony, to leave his line out as it would take me a few minutes to get the anchor in. All of a sudden I hear this..."Dad, Dad...!!!" I look over and see his pole bent over in his little arms with the tip headed down into the water. Luckily his drag was set right or I doubt he'd have been able to hold onto it. He did a great job fighting it, and we got it onboard. Thank God for that 50 lb. fish that turned a pretty lousy day into one for the memory books!!!
